Photo booth trends in 2026
The photo booth market is moving fast. Here’s what’s changing in 2026.
1. The end of the attendant
The strongest trend: 100% standalone booths are replacing suppliers who come with an attendant. Set-up in 5 minutes by the customer, with no technical skills, has become the norm. The budget is divided by 3 to 5.
2. No Wi-Fi needed
Event venues (châteaux, barns, gardens) often have no reliable connection. Photo booths that work entirely offline have a decisive advantage. The booth and the printer communicate directly, without going through the internet.
3. Printing is still king
Despite everything going digital, the paper print is still what guests take home. Across the 327 events where we recorded the counters, they leave with 1.5 to 2 prints each, even though the digital gallery is offered to them at the same time. Instant printing remains the heart of the photo booth experience.
4. Animated GIFs
The GIF has become a must. 3-4 seconds of movement, perfect for WhatsApp and Instagram. It’s the most shared format after the event.
5. Personalised frames
Frames are no longer generic. Couples and companies want a bespoke design: first names, logo, colours, date. Online editors let you create your own frame.
6. Home delivery
The “delivery + return by parcel” model is winning out over suppliers travelling to you. Simpler, cheaper, and it works everywhere in France (and in Europe).
7. Multiple formats
The single format is a thing of the past. Guests want to choose: classic 10×15, square 10×10, 3-photo strip. A variety of formats makes the experience richer.
8. The photo guestbook
Combining a photo booth with a guestbook is becoming standard at weddings. Each guest sticks in their photo and writes a message. Our guide →
9. Instant sharing
An immediate paper print on the spot, then a download link after the event: guests want to leave straight away with their printed photo, and then easily get the digital version of every shot.
10. Made in France
Consumers are paying more and more attention to where products come from, including for event hire. Why choose a French photo booth →
