Frequently asked questions
Everything you need to know before hiring your Badabooth photo booth
How much does it cost to hire a photo booth, and what is included?
Hiring a Badabooth costs between €79 and €359 per event, depending on the number of printed photos. The 100% digital package, with unlimited photos and GIFs but no printing, starts at €79 if you collect it from our workshop in Dijon, or €99 delivered to your door. With printing, allow €129 for 50 photos for a small event, €244 for 150 fast-print photos (the most popular package, up to 70 guests) or €359 for 400 fast-print photos for a big wedding of up to 200 guests. Every package includes return delivery, a photo frame customised in your colours, unlimited digital photos and GIFs, and a transfer link to download everything after the event. There are no extra charges on arrival. See the full package details or book directly.
How many photos should I plan for my event?
Allow around 300 photos per event and, for prints, 1.5 to 2 prints per guest. These are not estimates: they come from the counters of 327 Badabooth events actually completed, which show a median of 292 photos per event and about 5 shots per guest announced at booking. In practice, a wedding of 100 people calls for a package of 150 to 200 prints, for around 500 shots over the evening. The gap between the two figures is simple: your guests take far more photos than they print (GIFs, test shots, photos retaken because everyone was laughing). That is why the counter only applies to paper: digital photos and GIFs are unlimited in every package. And if paper runs low, a refill can be added when you book. See the detailed figures.
Does the photo booth work without Wi-Fi?
Yes, the Badabooth works fully offline, with no Wi-Fi and no attendant on site. This matters more than it seems: the châteaux, barns, wine estates and gardens that host most receptions have no reliable connection, if they have one at all. A connected booth that loses the network stops working; the Badabooth keeps going, because photos are saved locally on the device and printing does not depend on any connection. After the event, we send you a transfer link containing all the photos and GIFs. Your guests take and print their photos themselves, without any help from you, including late at night when nobody is around to restart anything. It is also what allows us to deliver anywhere without visiting the venue first: the only thing the booth needs is a power socket.
Is the photo booth easy to set up?
Yes, set-up takes less than 5 minutes and requires no tools or technical skills. You screw the three sections of each leg together, attach the legs to the booth, place the light-up sign on top and plug it in: it is ready. Allow a space of about 2 m × 2 m, ideally near the dance floor or the bar (the two places guests pass by most), with a power socket nearby and a wall or plain background behind for better photos. The booth arrives in a single box, with an illustrated set-up guide. Packing away works the same way: only the legs need to be removed before putting everything back in its box. In practice, set-up is done while the caterer is laying the tables, and nobody on your team has to deal with it on the day.
How does delivery work, and where do you deliver?
We ship your Badabooth from our workshop in Dijon as a tracked parcel, and you receive it 1 to 2 days before your event, at home or directly at the venue, anywhere in mainland France. Return delivery is included in the price shown for each package. If you are in the Côte-d'Or area, you can also collect the booth free of charge from our workshop at 15 Place Grangier in Dijon: this explains the difference between the collection price and the delivered price. Corsica is served for a surcharge, calculated automatically when you book. For last-minute requests, urgent and express delivery options allow delivery the day before or even on the day itself, depending on the destination. The return is made with a prepaid label supplied in the box. Check available dates.
What happens if I have a problem during the event?
You call, and someone answers. Our support team is available on +33 6 25 82 95 43, from 9am to 9pm, 7 days a week, including Saturday evenings, which is precisely when a photo booth tends to have a problem. The average response time is under an hour, often just a few minutes, and you always speak to the same people: the team is based in Dijon, support is provided in French, and it is not a web form passed on to a call centre abroad. Most issues are solved over the phone in a few minutes: a paper roll not loaded properly, a frame to reload, a setting. For accidental damage, a €29 damage insurance option covers falls and normal use. How to check a supplier's customer support before booking.
Do I need to book far in advance?
We recommend booking at least 2 weeks before your event to guarantee the availability of the package you want. From May to September, and especially on Saturdays in June and September, booths are booked several weeks ahead: if your date falls in this period, book as soon as your venue is confirmed. That said, a last-minute request is not a lost cause. Urgent and express delivery options allow delivery the day before, or even on the day itself depending on the destination, for a surcharge shown at the time of booking. The easiest way is to check your date directly: availability is updated in real time, so you will know immediately whether a booth is free. Check my date.
Can the photo booth be used outdoors?
Yes, provided the booth is sheltered from rain and strong wind. A marquee, pergola, awning or covered area works perfectly; in direct sunlight, look for a shaded spot instead, as the photos will be better and thermal paper does not like prolonged heat. You also need a power socket within reach, which is often the real constraint outdoors. If no socket is available where you want to set up the booth, the €60 wireless option gives 3 to 4 hours of battery life, which covers a drinks reception or a whole evening depending on use. For festivals and large-scale outdoor events, we also offer a portable photo booth with an attendant.
Are the photos printed instantly?
Yes, each photo comes out in a few seconds thanks to the built-in thermal printer, and your guests leave with their print straight away. Print speed depends on the package: fast-print booths produce a print in about ten seconds, which avoids queues at big events, while standard packages print a little more slowly but are more than enough for an event of up to 50 guests. Several formats are available: 10×15, 10×10 or the 10×5 photo strip, each with your custom frame. Alongside the prints, all photos and GIFs are saved digitally with no limit on numbers; the package only applies to prints. Compare the packages and their speeds.
How do I get the photos and GIFs after the event?
After your event, we send you a transfer link containing all the files: every photo and every GIF, in full resolution and with no limit on numbers. You download them in one go and can then share them freely with your guests. Nothing is lost if paper runs out during the evening: the digital files keep being saved regardless of the print counter. If you would like your guests to get their photo on their phone the same evening, without waiting for the link or installing an app, the €30 instant QR code option lets them scan and save the photo in one step. Full delivery of the files after the event is included in every package, at no extra cost.
Can the photo frames be customised, and are they free?
Yes, the frame is fully customisable and included free of charge in every package, without exception. You can send us your own design, or start from one of our templates (wedding, birthday, christening, corporate party, Christmas) that we adapt with your names, your date and your colours. For a corporate event, it is the most effective branding item of the evening: your logo ends up in every guest's pocket, and each print travels well beyond the event. The Badabooth logo appears in the top right corner of the frame by default; the €25 option removes it completely for a look entirely in your colours. We always approve the frame with you before the event. Book and customise my frame.
How does the return work after the event?
You put the Badabooth back in its original box, stick on the prepaid return label supplied in the parcel, and drop it off at a UPS Access Point near you. Only the legs need to be taken apart; everything else goes back as it is. The return is included and prepaid in every package: you have nothing to pay upfront or to book. If you would rather not deal with it the day after an event, a home collection option lets us pick up the parcel directly from your home or the venue. And if you collected the booth from our workshop in Dijon, simply bring it back to 15 Place Grangier.
How much space do I need?
An area of about 2 m × 2 m is enough to set up the Badabooth comfortably and let your guests pose in groups. Plan for a wall or plain background behind the booth (a light wall, a drape or a greenery panel all work very well) and above all a power socket nearby. Location matters more than you might think: a booth set up near the dance floor or the bar is busy all evening, whereas the same booth placed in a corridor or a side room is forgotten after dessert. Also avoid direct backlight from a large window. If you are hesitating between two spots, send us a photo of the room and we will tell you which one to choose. Our advice on where to place it.
